Original Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle Painting

The Honu or Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle can be found all over the shores of the Big Island of Hawai’i.  It is a magnificent animal to witness while swimming in the beautiful waters of Hawai’i.  One of the best places to see this wonderful creature is on the East side of the Big Island in Hilo at an incredible lagoon located at Carlson Smith beach park.  The beach is also known as four mile and is the best place to swim with it’s sandy bottom and chest high depth.  

This painting depicts a Honu with an ofrenda on it’s back. The ofrenda is an offering in Mexican culture and often includes food, flowers, and candles.  The ofrenda is very common in the Day of the Dead celebration and is used to invite your departed loved ones back for a night of earthly delights.  I chose to show the Honu with a Hawaiian style ofrenda that includes a tea leaf offering and native Hawaiian flowers.  Since the honu is endangered it carries the ofrenda for it’s lost brethren.    

Canvas Prints

These are hand-signed, ready to hang, high quality Giclee inkjet reproductions nearly as beautiful as the original work. They are gallery wrapped around a 1.5″ stretcher bar frame, printed with archival pigment-based ink, and coated with a UV varnish that will extend the life of your art. Please allow up to two weeks for your prints to be shipped from the time ordered since custom stretcher bars must be made and the Giclee must be stretched at the time of the order.

Paper Prints

These are hand-signed museum quality prints with pigment based inks printed on archival, glossy paper.  Each print is wrapped in a clear sleeve and backed with a stiff chip board. Paper prints have a white border and are ready to frame since they come in a standard frame size.
