“Calacas in Paradise” is a body of artworks celebrating my favorite holiday, El Dia de los Muertos, which also happens to be my birthday! The show runs from October 31st through November 30th at Iwa Arts and Cafe located in Kealakekua on the Big Island of Hawai’i!
If you’d like to discuss my work, you can come join me for the artist’s closing reception on Thursday, November 30 from 5pm – 7pm.
Works featured for this show include many of my skeleton characters which I like to make playful, with a sense of humor and irony mixed in with traditional Day of the Dead icons. Come celebrate a light hearted view of death and enjoy my works at this awesome local business!
While there, you can enjoy some of their amazing food and ambiance! They serve locally grown Kona coffee, as well as incredible baked goods!
